Wolfpack earn the CCL Cross Country Crown! |
In it for the Long Run St. Ignatius’ Jack Keelan, now competing for Stanford, became the third Catholic League runner to win an individual state title when he placed first for the Wolfpack in the Class 3A race in 2012.
Keelan joined fellow St. Ignatius alum Mike Patton (Class AA in 1980) and De La Salle’s Mac Macievic (Class AA in 1995).
St. Ignatius and Loyola each can make a case for being the CCL’s premier cross country school. Each boasts a secondplace finish in the state’s team competition, the Wolfpack in Class 2A in 1982 and the Ramblers in Class 3A in 2009.
Loyola also claims seven regional titles, two sectional crowns and eight total state meet appearances.
St. Ignatius owns seven regional titles and four state meet appearances.
Brother Rice has six regional titles and has been to four state meets.
